The short version
Some of the links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, the merchant (Amazon, Bookshop.org, or another partner) may share a small commission with us, at no extra cost to you. We never include a book, app, or product in a guide because of the affiliate economics. Every recommendation is one we would make regardless.
The longer version
TheAnxiousMystic is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
We may also participate in affiliate programs from Bookshop.org (an indie-bookstore alternative to Amazon we actively prefer where it’s available), and other app, course, or tool partners as we sign up for them. Where a link earns us a commission, we mark it with rel=“sponsored” in the link tag, per FTC and search-engine guidelines.
Why we accept affiliate income
Affiliate revenue lets this site exist without paywalls, ads, or sponsored posts that distort what gets recommended. The list on the homepage and in every guide is the same list we would write if no affiliate program existed. The commissions just pay for the time it takes to keep them updated.
Editorial standards
- Every book, app, or tool in a guide has been read, used, or evaluated by a human.
- We do not accept payment to include something in a guide.
- We do not edit reviews based on the affiliate commission a merchant pays.
- Where the best option for a reader is something we do not earn commission on, we still link to it.
